World Of Warcraft Cataclysm Sells 4.7 Million Copies, Gravy Train Still Rolling
Is it us or is the MMO market heating up again? Anecdotal reports of boredom and ennui from the World Of Warcraft player community (meaning random comments and forum posts we happened to lay our eyes on) have apparently been greatly exaggerated, as the sales figures paint a completely different picture.

“We’ve been floored by the community’s response so far, and we’d like to thank them for their continued passion and support for World of Warcraft, and for helping Cataclysm reach this incredible milestone.” said Mike Morhaime, Blizzard co-founder and the man whose kids, if he has them, you’re putting through college. Blizzard have pretty much proven that they have shifting numbers down, now how about working on shifting letters? Like changing the first one in “million” with a different one closer to the start of the alphabet? We know it’s an insane number, but who else is going to do it, Turbine? They don’t even deal in copies any more.
