CES 2011 Live: LG Revolution Hands-On & Pictures
Sprint came out with 1 4G phone. Verizon is coming out with multiple phones. In addition to the HTC Thunderbolt, the Motorola Droid Bionic and the unnamed Samsung phone – LG is coming out with the LG Revolution for Verizon. In a very busy booth put up by LG at CES, I got my paws on the LG Revolution. What did I think of the phone? Will the Revolution be…. good?

The first thing I noticed about the LG Revolution is how heavy it is. After getting my hands-on time with the LG Optimus 2X and Optimus Black at the LG booth, the LG Revolution seems like a brick. The two new Optimii (hmm?) phones are very light and thin. The LG Revolution, by comparison, is big and thick. So, it’s heavier – but it’s a nice weight. It reminds me of the Motorola Droid line of phones, which have a solid, well-built feeling to them.
It has got a 4.3-inch screen, and carries a front-facing camera for video chat. Verizon will be allowing video chat on either 3G, 4G or WiFi – which I’m sure will strain their network, but it’s certainly a selling point for the phone over the iPhone and AT&T’s network.
The phone doesn’t have the beefy specs – no dual-core processors have been promised. But, in testing the phone, I found it to be quick and responsive. I suspect that the phone will be powerful enough for power users who are used to the iPhone, Droid X, etc.
