CES 2011: Samsung Infuse 4G Officially Announced for AT&T
After the HTC Inspire 4G we saw in a leaked ad today we now get to talk about a second 4G Android handset headed to AT&T, the Samsung Infuse 4G, a fresh-from-the-oven device that was just announced. And after seeing the LG Optimus 2X, the first dual-core Android handset in the world, well, you’re going to love this Samsung creation, the second dual-core Android device in the world, and one that will bring you a bump in speed, not to mention 4G support too.

The Infuse 4G seems to be a true Galaxy S and Nexus S successor, and a much better phone to say the least. This beast comes with a huge 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, also known as the Street Fighter II, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board (let’s hope it’s not Froyo) with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top and some sort of 4G connectivity.
4G is what we keep hearing left and right and since this beast is coming to AT&T this year we have to wonder what kind of 4G will AT&T have to offer. Is it HSPA+ or LTE? That’s basically a question we asked earlier today and hopefully by the time CES 2011 ends we’ll get a proper answer too.
But let’s not forget that the Verizon is going to launch a bunch of 4G LTE devices this week and Sprint will also look forward to build up its 4G Android smartphones portfolio. That means AT&T can waste any more time and start upgrading its own network to LTE or start advertising it’s current HSPA+ network as 4G, just like T-Mobile is doing.
We’ll bring you more information on the Infuse 4G, and all the other hot Android devices being announced this week, so remember to follow our live blog for more CES 2011 coverage and subscribe to TFTS to get more detailed information on all things CES 2011.
In the mean time we’re going to wonder whether the Samsung SCH-I520 from earlier is anything like this Infuse 4G.

Most of your information on the Samsung Infuse 4G is completely WRONG. It does not have a dual-core processor, although it does run a single-core 1.2 GHZ Hummingbird one. It will run Android 2.2 on release, looking at a Q2 release date. Also it will not be LTE, only HSPA+ as AT&T has confirmed this.
