CES 2011: New iPad 2 Case Unveiled Ahead of iPad 2 Release Date

The iPad 2 is not even official, and it’s not going to be made official at CES 2011, a place where Apple would not unveil new products yet. But it seems that some third-party case manufacturers are ready to bring to Las Vegas their upcoming iPad 2 cases, well ahead the announcement and release date of the next-gen tablet and we have plenty of images for you after the break.

Besides the fact that the case has surprisingly showed up at CES 2011, we also get to take a look (again, I might add) at some design changes and new specs and features we expect from the new iPad. We’re yet to confirm whether the manufacturer of the case actually has inside information on the next-gen iPad or it is simply crying for some attention, but from the pictures Engadget took we’re can honestly say the case does look like what we’d expect.

The case comes with an iPad 2 mockup tablet inside, and as you can see from the images below, the case manufacturer suggests the new iPad is thinner than its predecessor and looking pretty much like the iPad touch, only bigger. The current iPad would not fit in the particular case, which is one more interesting fact about this iPad 2 shell.

Besides the obvious design changes, the iPad 2 case suggests a front-facing camera, something we already expect, a back camera, also expected, a home button that’s closer to the edge and a larger speaker, which is consistent with what we’ve seen in previous leaks.

The case comes with a full QWERTY keyboard too, which could transform the iPad 2 into a netbook/notebook, whenever such a particular feature is needed, although that’s not really that revealing about the next-gen iPad.

With this in mind we can’t wait to see whether Apple will make any kind of remark regarding this particular product since, like I said before, this iPad 2 case looks pretty genuine. What about you, folks, what do you think about this new iPad 2 case?
