CES 2011 Live: Motion CL900 Windows 7 Tablet Brings Ruggedness & Oak Trail to Enterprises
In case you have been following our CES 2011 Live coverage then you probably know already that Motion Computing is cooking up some really rugged tablets for your business. The Motion CL900 is one such heavy-duty device packing Windows 7 and ready to meet IP52 rugged certifications.

The Motion CL900 will be a business-oriented device, pretty much like the HP Slate was supposed to be, but something tells me this extra ruggedness will make the CL900 just a little more popular with certain businesses out there.

Besides that ruggedness you’ll expect from the CL900 here are all the other specs and features that matter:
- 10.1-inch wide LED-backlit 1,366 x 768 dual bonded display with Corning Gorilla Glass

As you can see we’re looking at some pretty impressive specs and features here and since we did talk about ruggedness before, here are some points that are worth remembering:
- Meets MIL-STD-810G drop spec to 48”
- IP52 rated: Water, dust and splash resistant
- SSD Storage
- Durable Corning® Gorilla® glass
- Aluminum-alloy internal frame
- Operation: +5°C to +43°C (+41°F to +110°F)
- Storage: -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to 140°)

- Storage humidity: 8% to 90% without condensation
- Operation: sea level 0 to 15K ft.
The Motion CL900 is made for rugged environments but that doesn’t mean it will not offer some impressive performance. We’ve seen the specs and features, we’ve seen the “durability features” so all that remains now is to see whether this Windows 7 tablet can conquer the enterprise environment out there. The CL900 will arrive at some point in the second quarter of 2011 so there’s plenty of time to decide whether to buy this baby for your company or not.
