CES 2011 Live: LG Smart TV & Smart TV Upgrader Officially Announced
We’re live at CES this year and the LG media event is already bringing some interesting products to the table. LG wants to make everything smart this year, including TVs and that’s why it will start selling the LG Smart TVs and the LG Smart TV Upgrader soon.

We’re not looking at LG’s Google TV here but at a whole new thing, a product that will compete against other similar services from Roku or Apple TV. LG Smart TVs will come with plenty of apps on board meant to bring even more content to your HDTV. The Upgrader, a different product, will act as a set-top box and will most likely work great with LG HDTVs, but other devices too
The LG Smart TV and the Smart TV Upgrader will come with various apps that will bring you Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Media Link and other services straight to your connected TV. LG plans to have plenty of apps at launch although we haven’t been given any specific number.
The Smart TVs will come with VoD and DLNA support, and besides all those apps they’ll also bring the web straight to your living room.
We have no prices and launch dates for you at this point so stick around for more!
