HTC Thunderbolt 4G Specs & Features Leaked: 1.2GHz Dual-Core Processor, Gingerbread & More [Verizon HTC Thunderbolt 4G Android Smartphone to Offer 4.3-in Display, Dual-Core Processor, Gingerbread, 8-megapixel Camera & More]
The HTC Thunderbolt 4G, also known as the HTC Incredible HD or the HTC Mecha, is, as we have recently seen, the correspondent of the HTC EVO 4G, or, better said, another HTC Desire HD with 4G capabilities. But it’s only today that we found out this HTC EVO 4G version will be a lot better than its predecessor when it comes to specs and features, and not just a mere copycat.

Thanks to a recent leak we now see the Thunderbolt in a totally different light as this smartphone might just be the next Android flagship handset of the world, no matter how short his reign will turn out to be. The Thunderbot will be announced next week at CES 2011, so until then we won’t really be able to confirm these specs and features:
- 4.3-inch touchscreen display
- 1.2GHz dual-core MSM8960 Snapdragon processor
- 8-megapixel back camera with dual-LED flash and HD video recording
- 5-megapixel front-facing camera
- Quadband support
- UMTS, LTE, HSDPA, HSUPA
- Wi-Fi b/g/n
- Bluetooth
- GPS and aGPS
- Mobile Hotspot for up to 5 devices
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- 16GB of internal storage
- up to 128GB of storage support via microSD card slot
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- 1800mAh battery
- Kickstand
A poorly designed forum has unveiled all these specs and features so one has to ask how these details were obtained. This doesn’t look like a controlled leak anymore, or if it is one such leak then we’re looking at a much better job. And since this leak originates from a German forum we can’t help but wonder why an LTE device headed to a CDMA carrier will be leaked in a market that’s dominated by GSM technology upon which LTE will be built at some point in the future. Are we looking at the GSM version of the Thunderbolt?
In any case, the HTC Thunderbolt 4G, as presented here, is a great smartphone and if everything pans out then we’re probably looking at one of the strongest Android devices out there.
