"Final Fantasy Type-0" Trademarked In Europe By Square Enix

Square Enix "Final Fantasy Type-0" Trademark Raises Hopes For New Series Entry

Square Enix are hellbent on keeping the moniker of their best known and best loved (sometimes) game series as mendacious as the day Final Fantasy 2 saw release. And to that end, they’ve filed a European trademark for something called “Final Fantasy Type-0″. There’s all sorts of speculation flying around that while, yes, there will most definitely be some sort of video gameĀ  involved, Square Enix may also bring forth other merchandise under the name as well, especially considering the trademark covers “toy swords” for instance.

That on its own isn’t much, but Square-Enix are apparently diversifying their portfolio with an online manga shop as well, so who knows what media and/or merchandise onslaught they’re planning under that seemingly innocent name? Also, be sure to take a good hard look at those Japanese characters, that picture up there apparently really says “Type Zero”. You know, just in case you ever want to describe it to a tattoo artist from memory, or something.
