CES 2011: Empire Brands Plans Release Of 3D Wicked Audio Headphones
It’s easy to forget about headphones, the devices that make your media private when you use them and are about the only things standing between some particularly annoying people and severe beatings. The folks at Empire Brands want to get a little extra fire going under their new lineup of Wicked Audio headphones by bringing them to CES 2011 for their big debut.

The new line of Wicked Audio headphones, pictured above, don’t just look pretty either; they’re being called the 3D series, largely for the artwork on the ear cups. But they also pack a whole bunch of quality features: perhaps the biggest point of place goes to the noise isolation features that are set to “inhibit ambient noise to ensure pure audio quality”. And of course, you’ll get much more standard features included like adjustable headband and padded earcups.
I’ve actually used some Wicked Audio products before–their headphones, specifically–and though they’re often not the kind of quality you’d find out of some really big names like Ultrasone, they will usually do a nice job of putting out your sound to the kind of quality you might expect. Getting a berth at CES for headphones might look a little bit like overkill, but in all honesty, headphones are a bigger necessity than most would give them credit for. After all, if you’ve got an MP3 player, or laptop, or any similar device, and you want to improve its audio playback, you stick on a pair of headphones instead of relying on the device in question’s onboard speakers–if it even has any!
And even better, Wicked Audio gear tends to stick to the lower end of the cost spectrum (as you might expect from some lower-end audio hardware), as they’re planning to release the 3D series for $29.99 a model, with no distinctions being drawn between models. So if you want that one on the far left, or some other flavor, it’ll all weigh in at the same amount cost-wise.
