Marvel Possibly Planning A 'Secret Wars' Game

Rumors Say Recent Trademark Filings Indicate Marvel May Be Planning A 'Secret Wars' Title

Rumors have surfaced that claim Marvel may be planning a game based on the Secret Wars comic book arc from the mid-80s. Siliconera has discovered that Marvel has recently filed trademarks for Secret Wars relating to pretty much everything concerning video games, including video game programs, video game cartridges and software, computer game software and yes, even sunglasses (which don’t really relate to video games, but hey, everyone needs sunglasses).

Fans of the miniseries probably remember it fondly for what it was – a battle royal between the most notable heroes and villains of the Marvel universe. Present day Spider-Man fans, however, may not realize that Secret Wars gave us the black Spidey suit and, by extension, one of the most badass super-villains ever: Venom.

Siliconera mentions the possibility that Ultimate Alliance 3 could focus on the Secret Wars and serve as a prequel game in the series. Until Marvel makes an official announcement, anything could happen, but it sounds like a game based on the Secret Wars may indeed be in the works.
