Future HP Palm Phones Accidentally Spoiled By Commercial Casting Call?
The names of three upcoming HP Palm webOS phones may have been revealed by a commercial casting call. DirectCast, a website that helps actors find work featured two listings for HP Palm commercials, looking for young, carefree actors with great hands. They were willing to pay $1000 for the right actor (a bit higher than the average commercial listed on DirectCast) and when somebody emailed about the job, they were given a bit more information about some names.

Somebody at PreCentral actually submitted a resume or something for these calls (Resume? Headshot? What do actors submit to casting calls?) and after an e-mail exchange, they were three names, the HP Palm Broadway, HP Palm Manta and HP Palm Topaz. Are these the names of the next HP Palm devices?
We know that HP has promised that they being showing tons of webOS devices at CES next week, and we’re expecting to see tablets of different sizes and phones of different sizes. I think it’s likely that these are phones, but I would suspect that these names are simply internal HP codenames for these phones. They aren’t particularly marketable, really, but I suspect that they are the real deal – as in upcoming phones we’ll see in the future from HP Palm.
As far as what these phones are, PreCentral believes that the Broadway is the “Pixi 2″, while the Topaz is believed to be the codename for the webOS tablet (aka “PalmPad”). The Manta is new, but there was a “Mantaray” mentioned in some webOS code awhile back. It could be the same phone/device. Do you think these are new devices that we’ll see unveiled in the near future?
