Black Ops Named The Most Pirated PC Game Of 2010 [Not Only Does Black Ops Top 2010 Sales Charts, It Tops Piracy Charts As Well]

Call of Duty: Black Ops may have enjoyed numerous successes among the money-spending crowd in 2010, such as the largest game launch in history and raking in $1 billion within a month of its release, but it has experienced much the same level of success with the software pirates of the world as well. TorrentFreak, a BitTorrent blog, has reported that Black Ops is the most pirated PC game of the year, being downloaded a total of 4,270,000 times.

Whether you’re for or against pirating, you have to admit that’s a pretty impressive number, especially for a game that was released less than two months ago. The Xbox 360 and Wii versions can’t claim the same title in their respective areas, however (for better or worse), as Dante’s Inferno was the most pirated game on 360 and Mario claiming the top spot on Wii’s list. Black Ops didn’t even break into the top 5 most pirated Wii games.

All in all, though, it seems that 2010 has become the year of Black Ops in every way, shape and form.
