Samsung Galaxy S2 Tipped For Mobile World Congress Unveiling [Samsung Galaxy S2 Smartphone Could Be Announced During MWC & May Feature A Dual-Core Processor & Android 2.3]

Earlier this morning we mentioned the rumors suggesting that Samsung was going to introduce the Galaxy Tab 2 during CES. And now we return with another series of trade-show related Samsung rumors. Except thankfully, these latest include another product and another trade show.

That said, they are still nothing more than rumors at this point. Anyway, according to The Chosun IIbo, which is a South Korean newspaper, Samsung will unveil a follow up to the Galaxy S smartphone during Mobile World Congress. So far the details are pretty light, no real name, no real specs and word coming from a newspaper report. Though, the paper did state that Samsung acknowledged that the device would be mentioned at MWC. But the bottom line, with nothing coming directly from Samsung means we are going to have to remain skeptical. Excited, but still skeptical.

According to the rumors, the specs look to include Android 2.3 Gingerbread as well as a dual-core processor and support for NFC. Of course, some will remember that Samsung also recently introduced the Nexus S smartphone with NFC so the inclusion in a follow up to the Galaxy S seems to make sense. And as far as Gingerbread, given this is tipped as happening in February, that only seems likely. Lastly, the remaining specs are also said to include a gyroscope.

Basically, this is the time of year for rumors. Granted we have them all the time, but they seem to bubble up and boil over during this time of year because the actual product news slows down and techies are beginning to get excited about what the major trade-shows are going to bring in term of new products. Bottom line, rumors and speculating are both quite a bit of fun, but at the same time I am looking forward to the beginning of January and new actual announcements.
