Michigan Man Charged With Anti-Hacking Laws After Reading Wife's Emails

Man Found Out About Affair By Reading Wife's Emails, Now Faces Jail Time

Face it, there are times when you have wondered just who your significant other is emailing and what they are emailing about. One Michigan man gave into temptation and read his wife’s emails finding out that she was having an affair.

With his life already ruined the Michigan justice system piled on. After his wife filed for divorce following his discovery, the local district attorney saw fit to charge the man with laws that are usually reserved from actual hackers who are breaking into encrypted files and other people’s computers. This is the first time the law has been used against a person who was merely snooping on their spouse’s emails.

The man, Leon Walker says that he was acting in the best interest of the couple’s children and calls the charges against him a “miscarriage of justice.” So far prosecutors have shown no sign that they are willing to back off of the charges.
