Android Apps: 103 Being Downloaded Every Second, 200k Available According To Latest Metrics
You know, we’ve downloaded the odd Android game and app here and there, but we had no idea things had gone so far so fast. According to Gartner Research, by 2014 Android will be king of the hill, but some of the Android-related numbers thrown around are pretty impressive even by today’s standards. Nevermind that we’ll probably be laughing about them by 2014.

So, AndroLib.com say that out of the 100k Android apps thought to be available, there are 103 being downloaded every second, which, we have to admit, sounds like a lot, until you consider… well, no, it still sounds like a pretty insane amount. Almost as insane as the 2.5 billion global number of downloads Android apps have seen so far. These numbers are still, of course, unconfirmed, as is the estimation that there are actually closer to 200k Android apps out there. Which actually makes us think they’re being pretty pessimistic with that 2014 forecast.
