Sony Ericsson Hallon Smartphone Images Leaked

We have already seen confirmation that Sony Ericsson was planning something during Mobile World Congress which takes place in Barcelona this February. Needless to say, while there is plenty of speculation, we still have nothing official as to what will be announced other than it will be a member of the Xperia family.

Of course, there is plenty of speculation hope that the device announced will be the Xperia Play, aka the PlayStation phone. But coming today and perhaps in addition to, or in place of the Xperia Play is the Hallon. Or at least a device that is sporting the codename of Hallon.

The details on this handset are fairly light and include these two images along with some basic specs. The specs are said to be what appears to be Android 2.3 Gingerbread along with a front facing camera, USB port and a proximity sensor.

In addition, the Sony Ericsson Hallon is believed to have the model number of MT15i and interestingly enough these images seem to have been taken by another yet to be announced Sony Ericsson handset. The device that took the pictures is said to be the LT15i which is codenamed the Anzu and sporting an 8 megapixel camera. And just for FYI, the images were discovered on Picasa posted by someone with a username of Rachel.tester, which some will recognize the codename of Rachel as the Xperia X10.

Yes, what we have here are two unannounced Sony Ericsson devices, one of which was in the images and one of which took the images. Confusing. And all of this was shared with everyone on Picasa. Needless to say, this should all be considered rumor and speculation until we learn something official from Sony Ericsson. Sadly though, that is not likely to happen for a few more months — until February 13th.
