Nissan LEAF Carwings System Ranks Drivers for Fuel Efficiency

Compete Against Other Nissan LEAF Drivers for Best Fuel Efficiency with Carwings

Pitting yourself against other players in online games is cool. But for hypermilers, Nissan LEAF’s carwings system is even better. It lets you compete against other drivers in terms of fuel efficiency.

The LEAF is Nissan’s contender for the greenest vehicle about town. The LEAF runs purely on electric power, and is not assisted by an internal combustion engine, whether for turning the wheels (like the Prius) or charging the battery only (like the Volt). The LEAF also has a limited range of 100 miles or so. And it won’t exactly compete in terms of zero to 60 acceleration.

And so the LEAF can only compete in one thing, and that thing, Nissan wants to be the best at: fuel efficiency–at least in terms of MPG equivalency. If you’re a hypermiler and you feel that you want to rank yourself against other thrifty drivers in your region or area, you will find the LEAF’s Carwings system great. It will rank you against other drivers in your area, via the “Regional Rankings” feature.

It’s race not to the finish line, but to whoever gets to save the most energy.
