US Cellular The Belief Project Hits 1 Million Customers [US Cellular Now Claims 1 Million Customers In Their Kinder, Gentler Mobile Phone Promotion]

Super-regional carrier US Cellular is rather popular here where I live in the Midwestern United States. Recently, the carrier has been pushing ‘The Belief Project’, a promotional program for customers that offers quicker phone upgrades, and ‘points’ for paying your bill on time or whatnot. And now, they’ve hit 1 million customers enrolled. And boy, did #1,000,000 get quote the reward.

US Cellular allows their Belief Project customers to spend their “Belief Project points” on this like new phones and whatnot. And Moshe Weitzberg of Highland Park, Illinois was surprised, according to the press release issued by US Cellular, when he became customer #1,000,000 enrolled in US Cellular’s Belief Project. He was rewarded by getting 100,000 Reward Points, while another 1,000 random US Cellular customers will receive 1,000 Reward Points.

I imagine many of you aren’t familiar with the Belief Project, so here’s what you can get with your oodles of Reward Points:

  • 1,000 – upgrade your phone 1 month early (on top of the 18 month upgrade time for enrollment in The Belief Project)
  • 1,500 – Free month of service on an additional line
  • 4,500 – Get any phone for $0.01

And there are other things, like free ringtones and what not. According to the US Cellular press release, Mr. Weitzberg can use his 100k point jackpot to upgrade all the phones on his plan to HTC Desires and even have enough left over to buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Not bad, eh?

An underlying theme of US Cellular’s Belief Project in their advertising is that they’ll treat you nicer than the average mobile phone company. Do you think they are? Tell us what you think about this program in the comments.
