Miyamoto Indicates That Skyward Sword May Be Further Off Than We Think

Miyamoto Says Skyward Sword 'Over Half Complete,' Could Mean The Game Won't Release Early 2011

Remember way back during E3 2010, when Miyamoto showed off The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and he and Nintendo said the game would release in early 2011? Well, in a recent interview with Pocket-Lint, Miyamoto may have indicated that Skyward Sword is still a ways off. Check out what he had to say after the break.

During the interview, Miyamoto said that Skyward Sword is “over half complete.” Considering that 2010 is quickly coming to a close, this could mean that Skyward Sword might miss an early 2011 release date.

“What we are focused on is creating gameplay mechanics so the gameplay experience feels very dense. In fact, the overall experience is going to feel more dense. We hope that people will want to go back and replay the game once they finish it,” he said in the interview.

Of course, “over half complete” can mean anywhere between 51% and 99% done, so this may just be worthless speculation. In any case, even if the game got delayed to the back-end of 2013, if it means a deeper Zelda experience, that’s something I’m all for.
