HTC (Droid) Incredible HD / Mecha 4G LTE Smartphone Gets New Leak

The HTC (Droid) Incredible HD also called the Mecha has been spotted in new press-like photos yesterday. Those were not the ordinary blurry shots we’d usually see hit the blogs weeks or months before the actual announcement of the leaked photographed gadget. Those were nicely polished images of a device that could be the next Android flagship handset of HTC.

Today we got one more similar picture, and this time around we’re looking at the top of the home screen of the phone. I guess HTC could really use the extra attention! The Incredible HD is probably similar to the HTC EVO 4G and the HTC Desire HD when it comes to specs and features and we can clearly see that 4G LTE symbol up there on that top bar which basically confirms the fact that the Incredible HD is going to be one of HTC’s LTE devices for Verizon Wireless.

So what will it be called? We have three name versions so far, the HTC Mecha, the HTC Incredible HD and the HTC Droid Incredible HD. Given that Verizon’s original Droid Incredible was, and still is, a great Android device that brought in lots of customers, it would make a lot of sense to see Verizon and HTC keep the “Droid Incredible” series alive. With CES starting off in a few weeks we expect Verizon and partners to reveal the Incredible HD (or whatever they’ll call it) to the public, and we’ll be reporting everything straight from Las Vegas.

Don’t get too excited though as this baby could actually be launched in stores only in the second half of 2011, just as HTC’s CEO stated a few days ago. The same thing happened with the EVO 4G, a WiMAX device that was announced a few months before actually being launched by Sprint.
