Logitech Revue Google TV Update Now Available

It looks like Logitech is in the process of rolling out an update for their Revue with Google TV set-top box. The update has been announced on the Logitech Blog and looks to include some improvements to Dual View and the Netflix app as well as some smaller bugs and features tweaks.

With that, the update is available as of today, so Revue with Google TV users should be able to check and then update as they are reading. Given that, lets get into those changes and improvements and break them down a little further. Lets begin with Dual View. According to the details coming from Logitech, this will now let you both move and resize, which should help fit your needs regardless of whether you want your live television feed to be smaller or larger as compared to the other item you have open.

Moving over to the Netflix app and we learn that the improvements come in the form of the queue. With this change you will now be able to “update your Netflix queue and find movies and TV shows within the Netflix app.”

Logitech has stated those were changes that were requested by users. And nicely, they not only updated those, but also “added stuff you didn’t know you wanted!” The changes that were added are described as;

“Now when you are searching for a movie, Google TV has a landing page that shows you all films associated with the title so you can quickly watch it wherever it’s available on your TV, the web or within an app — from sources like TV channels, Netflix, and Amazon Video on Demand. You can even click on the name of a cast member and we’ll take you to a new search landing page where you’ll see other movies that you can watch with that actor. It’s a cool way to discover movies.”

And lastly, there were also some bug fixes as well as some tweaks that “you may – or may not – notice.” Bottom line, while an update is always welcomed, it sounds like this one is more about making the overall user experience better as opposed to adding lots of new features. That said, fire up your Logitech Revue and prepare to update.
