SSX Deadly Descents Gets A World Premiere At VGAs
Time to dust off those snowboards, kids, because SSX is making a return and it looks like its going to kick your butt. With a world premiere trailer at the VGAs, EA unveiled SSX Deadly Descents, which looks like no SSX game we’ve ever seen before. The trailer takes a darker, more realistic tone that deviates from the playfulness of previous SSX entries (there wasn’t an appearance by DJ Atomika, unfortunately), but this gamer is alright with EA giving the SSX franchise the old reboot treatment.

I suppose, though, that this means we can say goodbye to the ridiculous tricks that the SSX series has been known for, but this might not be a bad thing (and it might not be the case at all). After all, the Skate series got along just fine with out the Tony Hawk-esque big air and ridiculous combos.
The presenters at the show said that SSX Deadly Descents would feature real-world landscapes, so it seems that, in an attempt to go with a more realistic tone, EA has decided to model the game’s mountains over, you know, ones that actually exist.
