iPad & iPhone Christmas Carol Probably Sounds Great Even for Santa

North Point’s iBand Use iPads, iPhones & Music Apps to Delight the Audience with Christmas Carols

Christmas is closing in fast and now that you (probably) got your fair share of snow, and some of our gadgets gift ideas for this holiday shopping season, it’s time to listen to some Christmas carols as performed by the North Point iBand. We love carols but since we’re a technology blog we like even more the way the carols (available on video below the break) are performed using just iPads, iPhones and music apps.

That’s right, Apple’s mobile products are used by the North Point iBand to deliver some of our favorite Christmas carols and the whole show is pretty impressive. As Apple would put it, there’s an app for that but without the obvious talent and hard work of the group in charge of these technical instruments, the performance below wouldn’t be possible in the first place.

From a different point of view this particular video, that already gathered over 500k views in a few days, is a great viral marketing tool for Apple. What better way of increasing Christmas sales than having some total strangers perform carols using your tablet and smartphone? I bet Samsung and the rest of the competition would love to have some similar indirect promotion for their tablets and smartphones, but we’re still waiting for Android fans to pick up their instruments and apps and offer the crowds a similar on-stage performance.

And since we’re talking about music on the iPad you’ll have to know that Gorillaz (no connection with the famous Gorilla glass) band is going to offer its latest music iPad, completely performed using iPads, for free this Christmas so you might want to look into that kind of music in a few days too. That’s certainly a great gift idea especially since it comes, well, free of charge.

Speaking of tablets, smartphones and gifts, don’t forget to check out our full 2010 Holiday Gift Guide in case you’re looking for all sorts of gadgets to buy your loved ones this Christmas. Well, wait a minute, you’re not doing the buying, of course! I meant all sorts of gadgets to ask Santa for!
