EA Releases Details On SSX Deadly Descents
EA has updated the SSX Deadly Descents website with more information on the upcoming SSX reboot, and what we’re left with is something that seems a little…off for the SSX franchise. It would seem the days of ridiculous Uber tricks and zany characters are behind us, as the website indicates the game is heading in a darker and more realistic direction.

The website says that the game will focus on a team of snowboarders who want to be the first to descend “the most treacherous mountain ranges on the planet” and that locations will vary “from the peaks of the Himalayas, where the air is so thin that riders have to descend through the death zone at breakneck speeds to keep from blacking out, to the solid ice ranges of Antarctica, where a sunlit line is the only survival option when temperatures drop 50 degrees centigrade in the shade.”
Of course, earlier I said that I was fine with a reboot of the series, but I was hoping that Deadly Descents would retain at least some of the charm that came with SSX Tricky and SSX 3. I may be a pessimist to say so, but at this point, I don’t think it will.
