Motorola (Droid) Everest Android 3.0 Honeycomb Specs, Features & Images Leaked
The D: Dive Into Mobile event brought us plenty of Android action and not only, but one important star of the show was Motorola’s upcoming Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet demoed on stage by Andy Rubin. Following Google’s policy of not disclosing details about an unannounced device we were left wondering what this particular tablet will be able to actually offer us and it looks like we have more details about it today.

The tablet is apparently named the Motorola Everest, a moniker we’ve heard before (whatever happened to the Stingray?) and one that probably fits better with such a device.
Today we have the home screen of the Everest on display in leaked images as well as a few leaked specs and features of the device. The Everest will probably be, along the Olympus smartphone, the flagship Android device coming out of Motorola factories next year and it will have to offer a bunch of interesting features:
- NVIDIA Tegra 2 T20 dual-core processor
- 1,280 x 800 resolution touchscreen
- 7- and 10-inch versions
- 2-megapixel front-facing camera
- 5-megapixel back camera
- 32GB of built-in storage
- SD card slot
- Gyroscope
- Android 3.0 Honeycomb
- UMTS, CDMA 3G support
- LTE 4G support
That’s right, this baby is also heading to Verizon too and while the (Droid) Everest will not be an exclusive tablet for Big Red customers it could come with exclusive 4G LTE support for Verizon.
It’s too early to compare the Motorola (Droid) Everest to the iPad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the BlackBerry PlayBook or the Notion Ink Adam, since most of these devices aren’t even out yet, and more importantly, because the Everest is not official, but this Moto tablet seems to have what it takes to fight its most important rivals next year.
These leaked specs, features and images come from somewhere in China, so don’t expect Andy Rubin to tell us more about the Motorola Everest. But should the stars align properly next year in early January then we’ll probably see this baby at CES 2011 so we’ll report everything there is to report about it in the upcoming weeks.
