Notion Ink Adam Pre-Orders Start Today at $375

Just as we told you yesterday the Notion Ink Adam Android tablet is finally ready for pre-order and today, December 9, you can select the version that best fits your needs. Those of you that have been active on the official company blog will be advantaged and you will surely get one Adam tablet as long as you’ll use the special pre-order link from Notion Ink. After that everyone else will be able to get in on the action.

So how much will the Adam cost? Well it depends on what you want from it so here are the options and prices Notion Ink prepared for yoU:

• Notion Ink Adam LCD +3G – 850 Series – $424.33
• Notion Ink Adam Transflective Wi-Fi – $499.45

• Notion Ink Adam Transflective +3G – 850 Series – $549.99

These are some great prices for an Android tablet, and they’re highly competitive when considering its main adversaries, the iPad, naturally or the Samsung Galaxy Tab, also an Android tablet.

While Notion Ink did tell us that Gingerbread is coming out on December 6, the Adam will not run Gingerbread and it won’t run Honeycomb either, at least not now. Instead it has a custom Android OS called Eden, which is apparently closer to Honeycomb than to Gingerbread according to Notion Ink’s Rohan Shravan, although Google hasn’t revealed all the Honeycomb features yet so we won’t really be able to verify that, at least not for another few months.

The Notion Ink Adam will be available in black with a white strip on it, but starting with mid-January other strip colors will be available too. As for shipping, we are told the tablet is going to be delivered to your door by DHL although we have no idea when that will happen so keep an eye on those confirmation numbers once you order it.

And before we close this and ask for your opinion on the Adam we can’t but wonder what the Mystery Feature is:

The Mystery Feature. It will still be a mystery! One of my wish was to design a product where every fortnight you can receive a new update which isn’t just a security bug fix, but a discovery of something which already existed, sort of un-locking a part. This is my first attempt on the same lines!
