Lenovo IdeaCentre K330 Gets Announced
Remember when some PCs boasted a “turbo” button, allowing you to kick your computer into high gear for brief periods? Seems Lenovo’s trying to bring this dose of retro styling squarely into the future with its new K330 IdeaCentre desktop.

And the K330 will bring some surprisingly hefty power along with it, too–based on the specs I’ve seen so far it looks like they’ve got the computer gaming market in mind.
It’s set to offer up as much as quad Core i7 processors, with a suggestion that Sandy Bridge will actually start getting involved in this magnificent mess. Plus, as mentioned previous, there will be a Turbo Boost 2.0 mode that lets you change gears in the midst of your computing processes, plus give you a visual indicator of how fast the hardware is running. You’ll have a Green mode, which is extra quiet but keeps the processors somewhat hobbled, a Blue mode which is basically normal operations, and a Red mode which turns on all the burners and keeps the whole thing running smoothly.
Plus you’ll get as much as 16 gigs of RAM in the system, and a pair of RAID0-striped hard drives yielding as much as four terabytes of storage space. Lenovo also claims DirectX 11 graphics, Blu-ray drive or TV tuner and the like, with a variety of configurations available. Also, as you can see from the pic above, the design will be something to see, with what’s being described as a “metallic mid-tower case with side vents”.
We don’t know everything about this beauty just yet–like the entry-level model’s specs–but we do know that it’s going to show up in 2011, and prices will start (you’ll likely not get the four i7s and four terabytes of storage for this price though) at $699. It looks like it’ll be a heavy hitter, and the price will probably be accordingly high to boot once you get to the higher-end versions of the model.
