Nintendo 3DS Resident Evil Mercenaries Brings Moving & Shooting To The Series
The Mercenaries Game Mode unlocked when finishing previous Resident Evil games is getting its own time to shine as a stand-alone Nintendo 3DS game (though there are several more in the works). And it’s even getting updated controls to maximize touch screen usage. “We needed to change the control system a great deal for the Nintendo 3DS,” director Kazuhisa Inoue said. “The touch screen is a really great input device, so we definitely want to get the most out of that we can.”

Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, Hunk and Jack Krauser are all characters you’ll be handling and upgrading with new abilities throughout the game. “You can give them skills and adjust their weaponry,” he also said. “That lets you adjust them for your own play style while levelling up their skills.” Sounds like this will be focused more on action than scares than previous Resident Evil games, but looks like a welcome addition to the line-up nonetheless.
