Google Chrome Web Store w/ Kindle on the Web Showed Off by Google

Google Unveils New App Store for Web Apps, Calls it the Chrome Web Store & Will Share It With the World in 2011

On top of the new features mentioned about Chrome, Google announced the Chrome Web Store, an app store that will help developers offer some of the apps users would like to enjoy within the browser.

The Chrome Web Store will be integrated with your Google account so paying for your future apps shouldn’t be a problem. And in case you decided that you don’t really like that particular web app you can decide to cancel your order after up to 30 minutes after the purchase but you will only be able to cancel once per bought app. Speaking about prices you can expect apps to be fairly cheap, just like the apps one could find in other app stores.

The Chrome Web Store will bring you lots of apps at least according to the keynote, and some of them might remind you of the apps you are already buying on your smartphone and or tablet so dealing with one more app store doesn’t sound like such a difficult thing to adjust to.

But one particular feature/app of the Chrome Web Store will be the Amazon Windowshop, which will let you windowshop (and more) various Amazon products. And if you’re looking for Amazon eBooks, then, voila, there’s a web app for that called Kindle for the Web that will let you purchase your favorite eBook titles and read them right on your computer. You won’t need a Kindle or a smartphone with a Kindle app installed on it to order any of Amazon’s eBooks anymore.

The Chrome Web Store is now available in the U.S. but worldwide Chrome users will be able to access it in 2011 as Google will roll it out, progressively to other markets. In case you’re a developer already considering creating some interesting web apps to enhance our Chrome web browsing experience, then, by all means, drop us a line and tell us more about it!
