Samsung Televisions Hit 1 Millionth App Download
Electronics companies have long known that apps were the next big thing. Whether talking about an iPad, an iPhone or a RIM Blackberry apps are the most popular part of the device. Samsung’s newest WebTVs have been the beneficiaries of app popularity as well as they recently saw their 1 millionth app download.

Samsung says that ESPN Next Level, Hulu Plus, Cinema Now and Texas Hold ‘Em are the most popular apps in their marketplace. Samsung says that over half their HDTVs are able to access the internet and their marketplace which is now stocked with over 200 different downloadable apps including MLB.TV, Netflix and Vudu. Samsung says that it will have sold 6.5 million units by the end of the year and by 2012 the company expects sales of these types of televisions to expand to 20 million units.
