Cellular South Paying People To Ditch iPhone

Ask a Cellular South customer how they like their service and they’ll usually be positive. The regional carrier has some of the best customer loyalty in the business, it seems. And now, they’ve got a hilarious new promotion that is sure to make them a new more friends. Bring in your AT&T iPhone, and exchange it for $100 off a new Android phone from Cell South.

Like every other mobile carrier in the United States, with a lack of the iPhone, Cellular South is placing their bets on Android. Back in August, they had a great sign at their stores that showed the little Android mascot shooting through an Apple – promoting their new selection of Android phones.

Now, Cellular South is asking “Love your iPhone, but don’t live AT&T?” If you bring them an iPhone, as aforementioned, they’ll take $100 off the price of a new Android phone. The tagline for this promotion invites potential customers to “Get a better phone, a better plan and a better network. Switch now and your Early Termination Fee is on us.” Granted, AT&T’s newly increased ETFs are just a bit more than $100, but it’s still a nice thought.

Surely, some iPhone fans will take offense that an Android phone could be considered “a better phone” than the holy iPhone. But, Cellular South does offer a few great Android phones, including the Samsung Galaxy S and the HTC Desire (basically a Nexus One without the Google branding). They’ve also got the tried-and-true Motorola Milestone (Droid) from last year, which they’re only asking $100 for, meaning you can get it for free with an iPhone exchange. Not a bad deal.
