New Facebook Scam Tricks Users Into Thinking They Can See Who Viewed Their Profile

New Scam Application Gets Users To Grant Access To Their Pages

It seems that hackers and spammers are trying to find new ways to gain access to your email and social networking accounts everyday and the newest Facebook scam seems to be tricking some people into just handing that access over.

An app that promises to allow you the ability to see who is looking at your Facebook profile has been confirmed as nothing more than a new malware application by the internet security firm Sophos. The app also poses as your friends, with a message like “OMG, I can’t believe this actually works!” and tells you to enable the app if you want the ability to see who has been viewing your profile the most. Once you click on the app it asks you to give it permission to access your Facebook profile and once you have done that, it has its hooks into your personal information. Facebook has long maintained that no app allowing you to see who has viewed your profile exists.
