Gameloft are offering free games, discounts and “promotional materials” for unreleased games as part of their advent calendar promotion. “We all know December is the longest and most unfair month of the year, why wait until the 25th to receive your Christmas presents?” they write on their blog. Um, because that’s when Christmas is? Just a shot in the dark here.

So go ahead and remove all meaning from Christmas by celebrating it all month round, hell, make it the whole decade for all we care. Because while we will be checking every day to see what Santa Gameloft drops in our lap (hint: more announcements regarding clones of well-known games that don’t have an original bone in their body, but will still be the best thing you’ll play on an iPhone somehow), we will not, repeat not consider them Christmas presents of any stripe, shape, caliber or form.
