Dell Vostro V13 Gets Upgraded To The V130

Dell Vostro V130 Laptop Sees Enhancements In Ports

A lot of people have had complaints about the Dell Vostro V13 laptop, and for Dell’s part, they seem to have listened to at least some of them. The result of their modification is in the form of the recently revamped Dell Vostro V130 laptop.

We haven’t heard much about the Dell Vostro line lately, so it’s worth checking up to see what’s going on. The new Dell Vostro V130 retains the magnesium alloy chassis that everyone liked about the original (thin and light on a laptop is a combination that everyone wants to see), and also improvements have been made on the laptop like an HDMI port (the original didn’t have one), an extra USB port, a port for your SIM cards, new processors (Core i3 or i5 are now available), Wi-Fi, 3G and WiMax connectivity (part of what the SIM cards are for), Bluetooth, a touchpad (Dell touchpads are great, and here I speak as a Dell touchpad user) plus Intel’s strange new “Hyperbaric Cooling” technology that adds a fan that draws outside air into the CPU and components, and then seemingly uses another fan to expel the heated air from the interior casing.

And of course, in a nod to Warhammer 4oK, since the speed of the device has been significantly improved, it makes much more sense that it now comes in a red case. After all…red onez go fasta, to quote the Orks. It also comes in a silver casing, if you’d rather not have red.

However, there are still problems here, most notably that the Vostro V130 still has a battery life of about three hours, which really isn’t that great. But even this admittedly small trouble (really now, are you ever really that far from an AC outlet and a fresh charge?) has to be taken against the fact that the Dell Vostro V130 will be selling at $429, and is apparently now available.
