Sandy Bridge Prices, Clockspeeds Leaked

Chinese Site Posts Alleged Complete List Of First-Gen Intel Sandy Bridge Chips With Prices, Release Dates and Clockspeeds - Do You Believe?

It’s almost hard to believe, per Intel’s earlier official promises, we’re just a few months away from seeing their next-generation Sandy Bridge processors hit the market. We’ve had a steady trickle of Sandy Bridge rumors the last few months, and now, the crescendo – a Chinese website has posted what they’re alleging is a complete and accurate list of the first run of Sandy Bridge chips, complete with model names, clockspeeds, prices and release dates. Without further adue:

Here’s what expreview.com is reporting:

Core i5-2500 – Quad-Core – 3.3GHz – $205
Core i5-2400 – Quad-Core – 3.1GHz – $184
Core i5-2300 – Quad-Core – 2.8GHz – $177

There are also various unlocked versions of each processor coming, with minor fluctuations in the listed price.
Per what we’ve seen from the rumors regarding the early engineering samples have have leaked out, everything seems to be spot on.
Keep in mind that January 9th is the last day of CES and that Intel will be there, as usual, with a big booth and press conference. Will they choose the Las Vegas tech show to send off their new generation of chips?
Remember that the the various sites that have benchmarked leaked samples of the Sandy Bridge processors have been very impressed with the new chips – despite some speculation that AMD’s Bulldog generation would match/surpass Sandy Bridge in the performance race. It still could, I guess.
What do you think about these prices and clockspeeds? Will you be putting Sandy Bridge in your computer next year?
