Nintendo Wii Sells Almost A Million Units, DS More Than A Half Million Black Friday Week

Nintendo Wii & DS US Black Friday Week Sales Are Off The Carts]

We’ll be the first to admit that Black Friday has the same effect on us that global warming has on Al Gore, mainly that we can’t shut up about it even though we’re only trying to help people save. In one case, the planet and their future generations, in the other, money on consumer electronics, but it’s all about the same, right?

And Nintendo are all about the green, just not that green (not crazy about CES either). The other sort, the sort that kindly shop assistants have been raking in for Wii and DS units, from Lamar and Brunhilde Q. Public (Joe and Jane sound so fifties, you know) to the tune of 1.5 million Nintendo consoles sold in the week of November 21-27. Maybe it’s just the anniversary bundles, but 900k Wii units sold while everyone has been alternately mourning it for months and screaming for the Wii HD. 600k DS units with the 3DS on the way. The world’s gone bonkers, man. Actually, worse, it’s gone casual.
