New Survey Shows Large Amount Of Students Texting During Class
Getting a class’ full attention has long been a challenge that has been tough to crack for teachers and professors but technology seems to only making it harder these days. At Wilkes University a new survey shows that 9 of 10 students admit to texting in the middle of class.

It really is not a new phenomenon for students to have their heads somewhere other than in the lecture they are receiving from their professors, but it is interesting to see just how many kids are willing to admit they do little listening. One student is on record as admitting to texting in class because, “it’s a really boring class, texting is a nice alternative to having to sit there and focus,” The same student did admit that while it can be a nice diversion that’s not always a good thing. “there are definitely times when it takes away from your concentration. Suddenly you’ll be at the end of the period and say, ‘What did we do today?’”
