Motorola Olympus Confirmed for AT&T: December or January

AT&T Facebook Account Says Motorola Olympus to be Launched in December or January

Whoever is in charge of the AT&T Share Facebook account is probably going to get seriously fired or at least yelled at. For whatever reason that person decided to publicly answer to a customer question regarding the arrival of the rumored Motorola Olympus, an upcoming Android super smartphone and actually confirm the phone for the first time ever.

According to AT&T’s Facebook account the Motorola Olympus is coming in December or January (the comment above has been deleted in the mean time.) Granted AT&T didn’t reveal the actual release date of the phone, but it still confirmed the existence of the device and its name. It also confirmed a previous series of rumors that said the AT&T Olympus is arriving at some point in January.

We talked about the Olympus a bunch of times, and the phone, initially referred to as the Droid Terminator, is going to be AT&T’s next Android flagship device. Sporting NVIDIA’s dual-core Tegra 2 platform, this Gingerbread-running smartphone will certainly put the iPhone to the test especially considering that the Olympus is coming to one of the last carriers in the world to still hold an iPhone exclusivity deal.

The Olympus will also be one of Verizon’s most important Android devices in the upcoming months, as Big Red will sell it too but as the Etna. And considering AT&T is going to have the GSM version of the phone we’re probably going to see other GSM carriers launch the phone in various international markets.

Chances are that AT&T will not reveal any more details about the Olympus on their Facebook page, but one can never know what a disgruntled employee would do to go against his or her employer. In case you are one such employee, we wouldn’t mind getting any tips on upcoming AT&T Android handsets with the emphasis on the Olympus. We’ll even help you create an anonymous email address!
