Lady Gaga Quits Social Networking Sites In The Name Of Charity

Twitter & Facebook Accounts For Lady GaGa Go Dark For Charity

While I am sure there are quite a few people out there who would rather it was permanent, Lady GaGa as well as other high profile music stars are quitting their Facebook and Twitter accounts for a short time in order to raise money for charity.

Alicia Keys appears to be behind this departure thanks to her charity “Keep a Child Alive” which focuses on families in Africa and India that have been affected by HIV and AIDS. Apparently, GaGa, Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake, Usher and others have all decided that they will stop tweeting and posting every thought that enters their head until $1 million has been raised for the charity. So far there has been no word on whether or not this plan might actually backfire.

It probably won’t backfire because Lady GaGa actually has an incredibly devoted online following. 24 million people have stated they are her fans on Facebook while she has over seven million followers on Twitter.
