Call Of Duty Black Ops Seeing Impressive Numbers From Online Players [Call Of Duty Black Ops Players Using Tons Of Ammo, Killing Billions Digitally]

We all knew that Call Of Duty: Black Ops was going to be a popular game when it finally hit the shelves. The extent of that popularity is a little staggering when you start examining numbers beyond just money made.

We already reported on brisk sales over the first three weeks of its shelf life, with $650 million being made in the first week. But just how much are people playing the game once they get it home? Saturday, an in game counter showed that all the players of the game had collectively killed more enemies than there are people living on the planet. More than seven billion people had been killed online. In order to get these kills, 138 billion shots have been fired and there are apparently some pretty good marksmen, as a whopping 561 million have been instant kill head shots.

Other ammo used includes 527,936 tons of grenades as well as 50,782 tons of C4. How much time does all this shooting and killing and exploding take? Cumulatively, gamers have spent the equivalent of 8,000 years playing the game.
