iPad 2 to Rock Our Computer Worlds in 2011 & Lead the Tablet Pack?
The iPad 2 isn’t even here yet, although we do get plenty of rumors starring it on a regular basis and it already looks like it’s going to be a star player in the tablet and computer business next year. Analysts expect the tablet market to explode in 2011 and the iPad is, naturally, the leader of the pack.

We’re actually not really surprised to hear that the iPad is going to be one of the best sold tablets next year according to analysts and it doesn’t take working for a fancy company to see that. However various analysts from Citigroup, FBR Capital Markets and Gartner say that the Apple will definitely be the tablet pack leader.
The iPad 2 is definitely going to bring new features to the table and will be ready to fight its current rivals a lot better. The Samsung Galaxy Tab (recently reviewed by us) and the BlackBerry PlayBook seem to be the best iPad competitors so far, but they have been announced and/or launched a long while after the original iPad hit stores and they’ll soon have to face the next-gen Apple tablet.
Looking back at analysts’ prediction we have Citigroup saying that 35 million tablet devices will ship in 2011 with 26 million of those being iPads. FBR Capital Markets thinks Apple will sell 40 million iPads next year compared to 30 million tablets shipped by the competition. Digitimes thinks Apple will make 70 million iPads next year with the competition reaching 30 million tablets next year.
These are some impressive numbers and we’ll definitely be there to see who got the numbers right, and, although the iPad and iPad 2 seem to be ready to dominate the tablet niche for one more year we can only hope the competition will be ready to put up a fierce fight. CES 2011 is already said to bring us a lot of tablet previews, and the iPad 2 is probably going to be announced at some point in January 2011. So stick around folks for more tablet news in the following weeks/months in order to make an informed decision when it comes to buying your next tablet next year.
