Orange iPad Wi-Fi + 3G Subsidized Deals Unveiled in the UK [Orange UK to Sell All iPad Wi-Fi + 3G Models For Less When Bundled with 24-month New Data Plans; T-Mobile Too]

Instead of paying the full price for the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G you might think you’d be better off choosing a subsidized tablet offer instead. That isn’t necessarily a bad idea especially if you plan on getting a 3G data plan for that iPad Wi-Fi + 3G anyway.

Now if you reside in the UK then you should check out Orange’s iPad special offer. The carrier will offer you subsidized iPad Wi-Fi + 3G tablets (all models) when bundled with a new 24-month 3G data plan.

Naturally we have subsidized pricing details for you right away:

  • 16GB iPad Wi-Fi + 3G – £199
  • 32GB iPad Wi-Fi + 3G – £249
  • 64GB iPad Wi-Fi + 3G – £349

Speaking about the data plans, there’s only one such plan that will offer you 1GB of anytime data, 1GB of quiet time data (midnight – 4pm) and up to 3GB of data through the BT Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots. That’s a total of up to 5GB of data allowance per month, if my calculations are correct (although that quiet time data does sound a little strange), and you’ll have to pay £25/£27 each month for it. Hint: existing Orange customers will pay the smaller monthly fee.

What’s the better deal you’ll ask. Going month-to-month with the data plan and buying an unsubsidized iPad Wi-Fi + 3G (prices range from £529 to £699)? Or getting the subsidized iPad from Orange and get into a new two-year contract with the carrier, which basically means paying £600/£648 over the course of two years on top of those subsidized prices above?

Well, considering that Orange hasn’t announced a launch date for this particular deal you have plenty of time to think about the perfect solution for you. And by perfect I mean cheaper. Of course, if you are committed to use that 3G connection each and every month then the Orange deal sounds a lot better.

Oh and before you do decide, remember the iPad 2 is coming out in a few months, so better wait for it to arrive before getting into a 24-month contract with Orange. Or T-Mobile UK, because since the two companies are both part of the Everything Everywhere conglomerate chances are they’re both going to offer you this particular iPad deal.
