Kinect Not Doing That Badly In Japan After All, 26K Units Sold
We don’t know what’s harder to believe, that there were even 26000 Xbox 360s owned by the Japanese or that there are 26000 Japanese living spaces that can accommodate nine feet of Kinect space. There’s only one explanation, the Japanese have started tearing down the walls to their apartments, effectively creating the necessary space while getting new roommates. And it also allowed Microsoft to double the number of Japanese households with Kinect on paper, which got their numbers to 26000. Win-win-win.

It’s either that or those were some off the chain tape measures. Of course, all the silly user base growing talk has started up, like yeah, Kinect is going to open up the Japanese market for Microsoft, look out everybody. The truth is, Microsoft needs to sell a metric buttload more of the things than they are currently to even make a dent, but we won’t be the ones to shoot down fanboy dreams. Reality usually takes care of that on its own.
