Capcom Announcing New Resident Evil Title At Spike's VGAs?

Rumors Circulating That Capcom Will Announce New Resident Evil Title At VGAs

This one little image sure is causing some people a lot of grief. Originally, the picture was hidden in a VGA ad, where it flashed on screen and was gone in less than a second. This, of course, is leading people to think that there’s more to this than just a playful little anti-zombie poster. People analyzing the image have come up with many different theories, but with so many games featuring zombies these day – meaning pretty much any game worth talking about – it’s difficult to guess what this zombie title could be.

However, Gamerzines has found what they call “fairly definitive proof” that Capcom will be announcing a new Resident Evil game. The zombie in the image about match two zombie silhouettes from a Resident Evil t-shirt, an image of which is below. The zombie on the left in the image above matches the zombie in the middle on the t-shirt, while the zombie on the right in the ad matches the second-from-right zombie on the t-shirt, except the image is flipped.

While I don’t know that this constitutes proof that Capcom will announce a new Resident Evil title at the VGAs, the folks over at Gamerzines are right with this one – the images do match up. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if their “fairly definitive proof” turns into “absolute proof” or simply just “a waste of time.”
