Nokia N8 & C7 Green Versions Announced
Nokia has been known to be green-friendly, particularly with its effort to reduce e-waste by helping collect old mobile phones, batteries and other gadgets. Now, they’re upping the ante with greener versions of their N8 and C7 smartphones.

In partnerships with UK’s O2 and Spain’s Telefonica, Nokia has announced that both phones will have the same look as their regular counterparts, but with green enhancements. The phones will be constructed with bio-plastics and bio-paints that are less harmful to the environment. The phones’ screens will be made of regular AMOLED, which consumes less power than regular LCDs or even Samsung’s Super AMOLED display.
Both phones will also come in packaging that are minimal and recyclable. The user-guide will also come in only one page, to save on paper. Even the included charger will be more power-efficient. The green C7 and N8 will also feature green applications such as eco-friendly educational game Climate Mission and a link to the phones’ eco-profile.
We suspect that the greener C7 and N8 will be a bit more expensive than their regular counterparts, although Nokia has not announced pricing yet, in deference to carriers O2 and Telefonica.
