Criterion Offering Free DLC For Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit If Trailer Gets 1 Million Views [Criterion Awarding Fans With Free DLC If Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Trailer Gets 1 Million Views]

You want new cars for Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit? Do you want them for free? Well, then you’ve got your work cut out for you, because Criterion is saying that they’ll release free DLC for Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit if the trailer we have after the break gets 1,000,000 views. Considering that the trailer only 145,355 views at the time of this writing, those who want the cars are going to have to watch more than once or twice.

The cars that will make up this possibly-free DLC are a Lamborghini Murcielago LP 650-4 Roadster, a Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition, and a Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible. If length of name is any indication (sorry folks, but I’m not a racing fan), then those are some pretty awesome cars. Players have until December 12th to get to one million views, so grab a case of Mountain Dew, a bag of chips, and get ready to hit that replay button one-hundred times over.

    very smart maketing!
    that benefits both partys.
I mean 145,355 is not that much!
And of course more views higher ranking in the search related engine. And for thanx a free DLC:)
Would be great to know if this also include the PC version?

I agree with you, it is smart marketing. If this ends up working out, we might see more deals like this in the future – free DLC in return for views, likes on facebook, feedback, etc.

None of what I read gave specifics on the versions the DLC would be released for, but I would think it would be for the PC version as well – seems like bad business to offer PS3 and 360 free DLC while making PC players pay for it.

Looks like its not going to happen!
To many people asume they can count on the others.
But those others asuming the very same.

Maybe people think… That they are going to release it anyway! It wil! Only not for FREE!
They just simply add these cars to a another DLC.

I don’t know, I still think they could pull it off. There’s 10 days left and they’re almost halfway there.

But I do think that if they don’t make it to 1,000,000 views by the 12th, the DLC will still be released, it just won’t be free.

Or, hell, maybe everyone will get close enough that Criterion will do it anyway? Then again, you can’t expect a company to get into the Christmas spirit.
