HTC (Droid) Incredible HD & Motorola Etna / Olympus Android Smartphones Star In New Rumors

HTC Droid Incredible HD Coming in January 2011 & Motorola Olympus to be Called the Etna?

The HTC Incredible HD and the Motorola Olympus are two hot Android super smartphones rumored to arrive in the near future and today we have more details about these two new Android devices.

First off we have the HTC Incredible HD, possibly not a member of Verizon’s famous Droid family and, again, possibly, one of Verizon’s future 4G LTE Android handsets. The phone was rumored to be announced on November 23, but that didn’t happen. In fact a new rumor is now claiming that the Incredible HD is coming in January 2011, which wouldn’t be that surprising considering that Verizon is expected to announce a bunch of LTE devices early next year.

The HTC Incredible HD is most likely Verizon’s own 4G version of the HTC EVO 4G / HTC Desire HD, but we’ll tell you more about it as soon as we get some sort of confirmation out of either Big Red or HTC.

The next hot Android device demanding our attention today is the Motorola Olympus, only we’re not calling it that anymore. Instead of Olympus this baby is now referred to as the Motorola Etna and I totally disagree with the name, but than again it’s just a name and it doesn’t really matter what it will be. This Etna device is supposed to be a super smartphone ready to build on the legacy left by the Droid X. But that’s an impressive name, Droid X. Droid Terminator was impressing too. Olympus is a good, solid smartphone name also, but Etna is just a volcano in Italy. We’ve seen the Olympus/Etna first leaked images yesterday (also available above) and we’re definitely waiting to see this Tegra 2 Gingerbread handset get announced before we can tell you exactly what we’ll call it. And just to be sure we cover all bases, the Etna could be the Verizon version of the Olympus, which is heading to AT&T, according to recent rumors.

So what will it be, Android enthusiasts? The HTC Incredible HD, the Motorola Olympus/Etna, the Samsung Nexus S, the Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone or the HTC EVO Shift 4G are some of the Android handsets we could to see in stores in the following months. Choose now!
