Apple Approves Anti-Gay App For iPhone [Apple Approval Process Allowed Gay Hate App To Appear On App Store]
The iPhone App Store allows you to tweet, shop, watch tv and starting now, hate gay people. Anyone who had Apple pegged as a left-leaning, progressive company, inasmuch as Apple’s political agenda can be discerned or even form the subject of a discussion, of course, may find their impression severely shaken by an App that made it through Apple’s approval process recently. It’s called the Manhattan Declaration, a manifesto started with the contribution of one of the original Watergate convicts, Chuck Colson, and it’s basically a 4700-word fundamentalist Christian screed against America’s tardy, but thankfully growing effort to offer equal basic human rights to all its citizens.

Apparently, Christians are called upon to condemn gay relationships as “immoral sexual partnerships,” and the manifesto also supports the idea that “LGBT people erode marriage.” There’s even a survey of four questions posed to App users, pro-gay marriage and pro-choice answers to which display the message “SURVEY COMPLETE! 0%, You answered 0 out of 4 questions correct. [sic]“. We’re leaning towards either slip or isolated Apple employee sympathies to the cause, we don’t think there’s even the remotest possibility Apple won’t pull this app sharpish once they get downwind of it.
