iOS 4.3 Media Event Scheduled for December
Apple has finally launched iOS 4.2 after numerous delays and it already looks like the company is getting ready for a brand new iOS version. iOS 4.3 has just hit the rumor mill and Apple is now said to host a special event at some point in December (December 9 seems to be the most likely date for the announcement with iOS 4.3 being rolled out four days later on December 13.)

The main point of iOS 4.3, although not confirmed by anyone really at this point, is to let iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users to subscriber to content (and that means paying for that content on a regular basis). Such an application could be the rumored The Daily, a News Corp. venture heavily supported by Apple.
The Daily, already confirmed by Rupert Murdoch, will cost you $0.99 and it will probably be the first subscription-based newspaper coming to tablets, most importantly to the iPad. We could be looking at something pretty serious here, as The Daily is probably going to be one of the first newspapers created solely for the web.
Apple will surely want to publicize such an application through a special iOS-centered event in which Steve Jobs, joined by other important names in the news business, and not only, would tell us exactly how this new iTunes feature would work. Recurring subscriptions for apps will certainly be very appealing to some developers, not just magazines/newspapers and iOS 4.3 should enable that particular feature on the iPad and other iOS devices.
There’s no telling what else iOS 4.3 will bring us, but considering that the iPhone Dev Team is just about getting ready to unlock iPhones running iOS 4.2, a patch to block that particular unlock could also be included in iOS 4.3. Not to mention various fixes that Apple will simply have to include in this next mobile OS version.
We’ll be covering this rumored Apple event live for you so come back to TFTS for more iOS 4.3 news in the following weeks.

How were there “numerous delays” on the release of 4.2 if the only date Apple gave was “sometime in November”?
While there may not have been official delays, its common knowledge that iOS 4.2 came out later than they originally intended.
