BLACK FRIDAY: Half of Employers Will Block Black Friday Deal Shopping Access, According to Survey
Black Friday deals are all around, where we can get amazing discounts on our favorite gadgets. However, most of the week being a working week, we can’t just slack off of work. Well, that’s unless you file for vacation leave and spend the entire week lining up at Best Buy.

According to a study conducted among CIOs, 48% block online shopping sites–Black Friday week included. This means most of us who want to go online shopping from the office come Black Friday will probably be in for a disappointment.
Meanwhile, 34% of employers surveyed don’t block access, but monitor access to the sites employees are visiting, shopping sites included. These will generally allow access, but monitor their networks for excessive use.
Only 14% will allow unrestricted access to shopping sites.
Of company executives who allow shopping while on the job, they expect employees to spend about three hours shopping for Black Friday deals this week.
This means you should use discretion in case you want to go online shopping from work this Black Friday. Your best bet: go buy something for the boss, too!
